My name is Adam May. I have been involved in tennis for over 20 years and I can honestly say I have loved every minute of it! The game started for me playing in the road outside my parents’ home in Cornwall with my sister, I was Pete Sampras and she was of course Steffi Graff, it was our Wimbledon and we played for hours. My junior tennis career was only very short playing for my local club, Redruth and winning the junior open there. Playing for my school Pool and representing the Cornwall teams until the age of 16.
I have now been a PE teacher for 12 years, teaching lots of different sports, and gaining lots of experience and qualifications along the way including gym instruction and personal fitness, tennis has always been a real passion of mine and passing on my knowledge not only to my own children but others. My daughter is a keen player, a Cornwall Schools Games Tennis champion for the past 2 years and Cornwall player at the tender age of 10. My son although a little reluctant at times, loves to hit those forehand winners!
I am now starting a new adventure in tennis here on the islands, with a variety of different services on offer within the game. Tennis is a great game to play on holiday, in the evenings or at weekends after work. If I can help anyone to improve their game or just have some fun between the lines I have done my job. Finally if you love tennis and have some coaching, then the more balls you hit, the better you will get. The better you get, the more fun tennis can be and the more opportunities the game can provide.
